LeBron James Is Helping 2,000 Kids From His Hometown Go To College

LeBron James and University of Akron president Scott Scarborough made a joint announcement that the University of Akron and the LeBron James Foundation are teaming up to try and put as many as 2,300 students through University of Akron on four-year scholarships. LeBron James said: “These students have big dreams, and I’m happy to do everything I can to help them get there. They’re going to have to earn it, but I’m excited to see what these kids can accomplish knowing that college is in their futures.It means so much because, as a kid growing up in the inner city and a lot of African-American kids, you don’t really think past high school. Barber Gives Out Free Haircuts to Kids Who Read to Him

Courtney Holmes is a barber for Sparks Family Hair Salon that is doing all he can do to help the youth in his Iowa community. Courtney has begun giving local children the opportunity to read to him while he’s working in exchange for their very own free haircut. Courtney told the Telegraph Herald that he just wants to support kids reading. Courtney said that anyone can make a difference with a bit of compassion and an inspiring idea.
